About Us
Two Creative Eyes.
One Unforgettable Experience.
At ShootOut Pix, every image tells a story — and we know how to capture it. Founded by J.A. Huddleston and Beth Smith, ShootOut Pix combines decades of creative experience, sports passion, and an eye for authentic moments to create photography that feels alive.
J.A.’s background as owner and creative force behind The Huddleston Company gave her years of experience crafting powerful visual branding for businesses ranging from local startups to international corporations. From logos and collateral materials to trade show displays and large-scale advertising campaigns, creating memorable imagery has always been at the heart of his career. In fact, J.A. has long referred to herself as an “imageer” — someone who doesn’t just take pictures, but creates images that connect emotionally and leave lasting impressions.
Sports photography has always been a natural extension of that passion. As a competitive soccer coach for over 12 years and a mother of two college soccer players — including a Division I athlete — J.A. understands the intensity, emotion, and split-second moments that define
sports. She’s also the inventor of the GOShelter Wearable Hands-Free Canopy, an innovative wearable canopy that allows ShootOut Pix to continue shooting in challenging weather while protecting both photographers and camera equipment. "Rain delays don’t stop us — they often create some of the most dramatic photos."
Beth Smith brings a completely different, but equally valuable, perspective to the ShootOut Pix team. After a long and successful career as a school counselor in the education field, Beth retired and brought her creativity and keen eye for composition into photography. She plays a major role in everything from framing shots to the creative finishing touches that make each image stand out.
Together, J.A. and Beth offer something uniquely different: they work collaboratively during every session, each capturing different angles and moments at the same time. The result is a richer gallery, more variety, and nearly twice the photo opportunities for clients — without doubling the session time.
